I am an adult learner currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix online program for Informational technology/ Networking program. I am worried about the debt that I am getting myself into. I currently work in a food packaging plant. With my current financial status, I could afford to work part-time and still pay my bills.

i think i may want to go into computer engineering, so i read that i might need calculus. but at the same time, financial literacy is something i will need for life. i want the competitive edge for college, but is it worth the life skills?

P.S. i can’t take both classes.

Examine the current crisis in the financial markets. Provide a historical time line as to the mechanisms and the institutions that bought forth this crisis. In doing so, explore the current legislation that is being offered to remedy the crisis, what does it do, and what are the chief complaints from its detractors in Congress? Target the legislation to answer this question and the committees in the U.S. House of Representatives that are responsible for crafting effective legislation.

I am back in college to complete my bachelor’s degree so I can go on to graduate school. Unfortunately, I used all available financial aid the first time around, am not eligible for the Pell Grant and have poor credit. I’m wondering if there’s anyone else with a similar situation that would have suggestions. I have registered for an online scholarship contest, but need to explore other options.
I work full time, have normal family expenses. Assistance from my parents is not an option.

On Jan 31, 2006, our department was told it would be closing in six months, which would have been the end of June 2006. It is now June 2007 and the department has NOT closed down. The “final” date has been changed at least six times, dragging this layoff out for over a year.

As the supervisor of the department, I want to stay till the end, plus the small severence package is essential to my financial survival. However, each time a date is announced I send out resume’s, and the date gets changed. This makes a job search near impossible.

At what point does this become harrassment? Can my employer just keep extending the “final” date without any responsibility to those losing their jobs?

Thanks for any and all information

So my question is, does financial aid (grants) cover childcare expenses or will I need to somehow get a part time job?
I am an independent…

I’m at a crossroads in my career. I’m burnt out of engineering and want out. I realized that it just isn’t me. I have been interested in the financial services for a long, long time but don’t know what options I have to break into the industry. After talking to friends, family and those in the know, I have been inundated with all the possible pittfalls. Yet, I am not discouraged. So can anyone please offer options or ideas other than going back to school for a MBA in Finance? Thanks in advance.
