I want to apply for financial aid but I heard that if you apply in January, I can usually get more because it’s a different department. Like if I apply now I’m getting aid from my current college but if I apply in January I’ll get aid from the government. Can someone please tell me more information.

I’m registering for school in November and classes will start in January, I just went onto FAFSA and it says 2008-2009 classes should have registered in June/July. Does this mean if I apply now I won’t get it or do I have to wait for 2009-2010? Is there any loophole, I’m so worried about this.

Kay, im confused. I go to SDSU and i can only get financial aid if im a full-time student (12 units). Im planning on taking a health class at a community college because i just tried crashing a course today, and i didnt get in. That means ill only have 9 units at state, but 3 at the community college. How will my financial aid cover me ??

A friend recently told me of a person he knows that receives $26,000 per semester from the federal government in student loans. I am thinking about going to school full time, but need extra income. Would financial aid be able to sufficiently cover my living expenses and school as well? I have an apartment and all of the costs associated with that.

cause i’ve heard that there are certain times/semesters that a student can receive the most financial aid. in other words that there is more money available for those who apply.

Should I try to get a job when the government will know how much I make, when at the same time I want as much financial aid as possible? Should that be a reason why not to get a job?

I’m currently a freshmen in college. And I receive lots of financial aid (THANK GOD).
Now, I’m taking 15 credits this semester. And 12 is full time.
I’m considering dropping a course b/c of low grade and that course is 4 credits.
So, then I’ll go down to 11 credits. Which ISN’T full time!

I already received financial aid for this semester. And I applied for next semester.

Will this affect the money I get in any way?
